Tony McFadden
Senior Instructor
Tony is an accomplished aviation training specialist with a career spanning RAAF technical college airframe systems instruction, P3C ‘Orion’ flight engineer training, and civilian Part 147 type-training development. Beginning his instructional journey in the Air Force, Tony taught airframe systems and mentored flight engineers, establishing a strong foundation in aircraft systems knowledge, operational discipline, and high-stakes technical instruction.
Transitioning to civilian aviation, Tony delivered Aeroskills Certificate II and Certificate IV programs, along with AME licence basic training, applying military-grade instructional standards to vocational and regulatory training environments. His work emphasised competency-based assessment, practical skill development, and clear, structured technical communication.
Across 11 years at Cobham, Tony designed and delivered a wide range of technical and non-technical courses, supporting maintenance teams, operational staff, and organisational safety culture. His curriculum development work strengthened internal capability and ensured alignment with CASA and industry requirements.
Tony has also contributed to pilot training, delivering King Air B200 and B350 ground school subjects, supporting pilot proficiency through system-focused, operationally relevant instruction.
Currently at Aerotrainingx, Tony develops and delivers CASA Part 147 aircraft type training, integrating regulatory compliance, practical competence, and modern instructional methodology. He continues to advance aviation training quality through precise, experience-driven course design and delivery.
